Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Supervise and direct the investigation and disposition of all assigned claims with an autonomous unit. Train, develop and provide technical guidance to BI claim Reps

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, evaluate performance and recommend salary changes for personnel.
  • Actively participate in the interview and selection of new personnel.
  • Responsible for the proper assignments of claims.
  • Maintain service standards, reporting procedures, statutory compliance and the efficient operation of assigned unit.
  • Provide continuous training to personnel.
  • Responsible for the direct resolution of problems, complaints and general public relation issues, which arise concerning claim issues.
  • Extend coverage , reserve and settlement authority on losses which exceeds individual levels.
  • Maintain current knowledge of changes in respective area of law impacting liability claims.
  • Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures which impact claim processing.

 

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Demonstrated proficiencies in managing a department/ unit through consistent performance and results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret research and opinions and apply accurately to establish action plans
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of global company knowledge, totality of impact of decisions, and leadership abilities
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership and diplomacy skills with the ability to coach, develop and mentor to bring out the best in the employee
  •  Must have a record of having successfully achieving business goals, including managing staff members
  • Excellent negotiation skills
