Job Description

Position: ENT-Application Developer-III (Winston-Salem, North Carolina)

Duties:

  • Develop code for intermediate modules, participate in design reviews, conduct code reviews, create test plans and participate in testing reviews, and resolve moderate defects. Design, document, review, and maintain components of software solutions for intermediate projects. Work closely with business partners and Project Mangers to identify needs and design technology solutions to: increase operational efficiency, reduce compliance risks and/or advance strategic initiatives. Responsible for all phases or portions of the development cycle beginning with: concept modeling and requirements gathering, to release and ongoing user support. Review detailed business, functional, and high-level technical requirements including technical recovery, security, and audit to identify the need for, and assist with, the roll-back of units of work. Participate in creating detailed design documents that support interface and technical design and meet solution requirements. Provide/confirm detailed estimates for assigned work units and provide communication for deviations from estimates; proactively work with project managers to ensure appropriate time is allocated to assigned tasks. Document design and code fixes for all created code to memorialize fixes and dependencies accurately, according to established standards. Function as a technical expert for lower band application developers, and conduct timely structured code review to ensure standards and systems interoperability. Prepare accurate data for test plan and modules; participate in testing reviews to identify possible issues, and track and resolve simple to intermediate defects and identify support issues and initiate action to resolve the problem.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field of study (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five years of experience in coding, designing, and testing software components and modules.
  • Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Demonstrated experience using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to create custom extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes gathering data from a variety of sources such as DB2, Oracle, flat files, and SQL databases, staging the data, applying transformations, applying business logic using Structured Query Language (SQL), and loading the final result set to the data warehouse;  DE in data warehouse concepts such as data normalization, slowly changing dimensions, OLTP, OLAP, Dimensions, Facts, along with other concepts such as Start Schema, Snow Flake Schema, other options available and their differences; DE using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to create and monitor SQL Agent jobs, troubleshooting job failures, analyzing execution statistics, and optimizing queries and other aspects of the load process for maximum efficiency; and DE in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, promoting code through environments, and data validation techniques, as well as experience with source code management using a tool such as GIT.

The base range offered for the role is: $117,083.00 and may vary based on internal equity, and job-related skills, knowledge and experience; among other factors.
