Primary Purpose:

Under direct supervision, the Lockbox Utility Specialist ensures timely processing of client payments and corresponding policy information using NGIC processing platforms. This position requires the end to end processing of payments from receipt, to image capture, keying, research and posting.  
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Receive and sort incoming mail
  • Use high speed extraction equipment, open mail and extract paper invoices/checks
  • Process invoices and checks through an image capture device based on type of work and client service level
  • Properly sort non-payment documents for routing to partner areas within the organization
  • Using NGIC Accounting Suite software, perform necessary data entry to balance and post payments to NGIC’s policy system
  • Accurately batch work and communicate issues to Workflow or Supervisor
  • Develop subject matter expertise on software and hardware to proactively identify optimizations and work through daily issues
  • Follow established corporate and department policies and procedures
  • Cross train in all production areas of lockbox to assist where necessary

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude focused on team success
  • Self-Starter and willing to take initiative
  • Flexibility to work production based hours
  • Ability to read and follow instructions with attention to detail
  • Eye-hand coordination and ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Adaptable to change and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • Openly seeks continuous improvement and constructive feedback
  • Ability to meet production and quality standards within 90 days of hire
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Desired Skills:

  • Prior operations experience in a production environment
  • 10 key skills preferred
