Primary Purpose:

Responsible for re-engaging non producing agents, engage newly appointed agents, recruit new agents, and provide territory support for assigned area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Monitor agent sales identifying and reengaging non-producing or low producing appointed agents within assigned territory
  • Recruit agents in underserved geographic area and tap available resources for possible potential agent recruitment
  • Enhance ability to respond to market opportunities and target carriers and products by providing service and support to assigned agents
  • Consistently maintain CRM to track agent progress
  • Create excitement about Assurant and National General products via contact through primarily the phone but also flyers, postcards, e-mails, fax, and other methods
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in company product to provide territory training  to assigned areas and agents
  • Work with top territory agents on continued development and training
  • Able to travel multiple times per year
  • Present product positioning training/sales sessions in-person, online and over the telephone
  • Develop a communication strategy for approaching agency downlines in consultation with RSDs and agency owners
  • Customize on-boarding pathways based on agency product focus for quickest conversion from appointment to sales

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 2+ years of sales and marketing experience within an Insurance industry or related field
  • A&H Sales – Health and Life license or ability to acquire within 60 days of hire
  • Previous Sales position experience
  • Strong ability to motivate others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization.
  • Proven ability to be persuasive, clearly communicate, and multi-task
  • Valid U.S. State-issued driver’s license required
  • Must be able and willing to travel as needed

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business administration or related field
  • Proven success in positively positioning products
  • Experience in training and development
