Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Ensure the stable operation and support of the entire messaging environment.  Maintain multiple computing environments by engineering, installing, and maintaining various messaging platforms to include MS Exchange and Skype.  Responsible for all services and technologies that drive collaborative messaging solutions for end users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support Windows System platforms, connectivity, and related system software
  • Assist with administration of hosted Proof Point SMTP Mail Gateway servers, Release or discover blocked messages
  • Administer Exchange 2016 email servers, mail flow, connectors and mailbox administration
  • Administer and manage the Faxing and unified messaging server environments
  • Perform installations, configuration changes, and maintenance of hardware, firmware, operating systems, and software as directed by messaging team
  • Develop and maintain scripted and automated tools for management of the Windows environment
  • Participate in system performance tuning and technical troubleshooting sessions
  • Strive continuously to make enhancements to the server environment, processes/procedures
  • Analyze business and user requirements to design and deliver appropriate technical solutions
  • Monitor Exchange backup and restore tasks and troubleshooting via Avamar
  • As a member of a rotation, support Server systems 24/7 on-call
  • Develop messaging access controls, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintain and develop documentation
  • Provide technical support for unresolved help desk issues
  • This position may be assigned to second or third shift per business and operational needs

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 2+ years of Exchange 2013 or later management in a large corporate environment with emphasis on high-availability and uninterrupted 24/7
  • 4+ years of experience implementing and administering mission critical enterprise class Windows systems
  • Knowledge of electronic records management including document retention, deletion and legal hold policies
  • Demonstrated proficiency of Messaging Applications such as: MS Skype, SMTP Gateway, Unified Messaging, or Faxing Solutions
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Windows Operating System management and troubleshooting to include Active Directory and NTFS security
  • Experience with bulk user migrations or mailbox/account importing processes
  • Ability to manage projects within area of technical responsibilities and to multi-task several mission critical tasks/projects with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, end users, non-technical and management staff spanning all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, facilitate effective team interactions, and to foster a positive work environment; willingness to assist teammates in order to achieve departmental goals
  • Strengths in organizational, attention-to-detail, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential and adhering to company standards
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing technology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent experience
  • PowerShell, DNS, IIS and HTTP knowledge desired
  • Understanding of Change Control procedures, High Availability, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery concepts as they relate to Distributed Systems architectures
  • VMware ESX and SQL Database familiarity
  • Domain Migration or User migration process implementation
  • Change Management Experience
  • Cloud Experience including AWS or Azure
  • Experience operating O365 tenant and deployment of tools
  • Experience with AD and Exchange in a hybrid mode
  • Working knowledge of journaling and SourceOne
