Job Description

Primary Purpose:

The associate’s primary responsibility is to service the caller and/or mail to conclusion by incorporating the skillsets outlined below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates customer orientation, that is, the ability to satisfy the needs of internal and external callers
  • Provides accurate and complete information grounded on claim’s procedures and regulatory time frames
  • Confirms status of policy coverages and the ability to generate the appropriate perils
  • Performs follow-up work with callers and/or mail including insured’s, claimants, brokers and/or providers to secure valuable information and/or provide updated status when relevant to the situation
  • Timely communicates vital information or paperwork secured to the handling adjuster or unit management
  • Sets high standards of performance for self; assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks
  • Relates in a positive, respectful way with all associates - demonstrates enthusiasm and supports the organization, its leaders and co-workers while working cooperatively with other associates
  • Makes sound, logical decisions that contribute to the organization’s success
  • Adapts appropriately to differing styles and situations
  • Is engaged and focused on teamwork, participation, innovation, quality and positive outcomes

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Utilize time management skills to effectively set priorities in order to achieve departmental goals
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Computer literate, able to assimilate to business applications on multiple platforms
  • Minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must successfully complete 90 day probationary period and other related training programs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Bi-Lingual preferably English/Spanish
  • 1+  years of experience in the Auto Insurance Industry
  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
