Primary Purpose:

Lead a team and coordinate with other areas of Human Resources to carry out operational and strategic initiatives to meet talent needs. This position will coordinate the development of talent pipelines, various recruiting programs, and is a trusted advisor to business leaders and hiring managers. The Director, Talent Acquisition is responsible for leading continuous improvement to encourage efficiency, operational excellence, and best practices in recruiting top talent throughout the organization.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the management to provide strong leadership for the Recruiting function by executing the overall strategic direction, design and operations of the recruiting staff, systems, services and processes to support the organizations recruitment needs
  • Develop and implement recruiting plans and policies supported by effective budget management
  • Oversee outsourced recruiting strategies, practices, and vendor relationships
  • Lead and direct compliance programs and policies
  • Interface with management to identify key talent acquisition initiatives
  • Develop and manage programs and strategies to attract candidates and build talent pipelines and oversee best practices regarding recruiting/staffing strategies to position the National General as an “employer of choice"
  • Anticipate labor market changes and develop innovative sourcing, recruiting and hiring strategies
  • Recommend and implement continuous process improvements to enhance results
  • Collaborate with HR leadership in developing and presenting the strategic vision for talent acquisition
  • Establish and promote the Talent Acquisition team as a credible, trustworthy, and capable resource within the organization
  • Partner with business teams to build and maintain a global talent brand for recruiting top talent
  • Serve as the Business Process Owner for our applicant tracking system and work with the Systems team to ensure improvements are implemented and that the technology continues to serve our recruiting needs
  • Maintain programs and systems to address and comply with local, state and federal employment statutes, regulations, and laws


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 7+ years of recruiting / talent acquisition experience with proven results in a corporate full-life cycle recruiting environment
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing a recruiting / talent acquisition team
  • Experience developing a strategic road map for Talent Acquisition & designing a strategy, setting and achieving goals, building a team, driving process improvement, and increasing internal client satisfaction
  • Experience driving efficiencies through the use of technologies, process, and workflows
  • Experience leveraging social media and internet research in support of creative sourcing
  • Leadership and influence skills; ability to effectively communicate & network at both executive and operational levels and across cultures
  • Understanding of recruiting environments, competitive landscape, and emerging trends
  • Analytical skills and detail orientation
  • Proficient skills with Enterprise-level ATS solution
  • Highly motivated with a strong customer focus
  • Advanced skill level required in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels across the organization
  • Ability to partner with other members of the HR team as well as cross-functionally at all levels of the organization
  • Adaptability with experience in managing in an evolving environment
  • Analytical skills and detail orientation
  • Must be able and willing to travel 30+ % of the time
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
