Job Description

Primary Purpose:

The Security Administration (Supervisor or Project Lead) will provide direct supervision to junior members of the Identity Access Management team in the performance of their daily duties while acting as an escalation path to senior management. The incumbent ensures new initiatives and security related projects are in compliance with various regulatory frameworks such as PCI, HIPPA, and NY DFS as it relates to Identity and Access Management. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • May provide coaching, mentoring, and task prioritization for junior team or project members
  • Act as an escalation point for security problems not resolved by the IT Support Desk or other team members
  • Administer security of system(s) and user IDs which include account creation, deletion, modification, reset, or extension
  • Manage security for local, group, and user accounts within a mixed Windows, Unix, and Linux environments
  • Conduct extensive analysis to ensure that security on all platforms complies with published company procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Respond to internal, external, and regulator requests during reviews and/or audits
  • May serve as an escalation point for issues with other groups as needed including Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, and Federal/State Regulators
  • Create and maintain information security systems and procedures documentation
  • Create and publish system reports for review by security, auditing and compliance, technical support and other staff
  • May work with other technical teams on security projects and system integrations as needed to include SSO implementations
  • Ensure compliance and adherence with corporate security controls, standards, and applicable regulatory frameworks
  • Ensure the protection of client and company information resources against unauthorized use, inappropriate degrees of access, disclosure, damage and/or loss
  • Partner with the architecture and information security teams to identify the long-term role of directory services across the company
  • Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 7+ years of hands-on information security or network administration experience
  • Significant and demonstrable knowledge of Role Based Access Control (RBAC) methodology
  • Significant and demonstrable knowledge of Identity and Access Management best practices including directory services (Active Directory, LDAP, eDirectory); Federation, SSO, SAML, RBAC, OAuth, PKI and Identity Management
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate security risk and compliance related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
  • One or more certifications to include CompTIA Security+, Network+, or GIAC

Desired Skills:

  • Masters Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in a highly regulated financial services/insurance environment with dedicated security administration and security management functions
  • Professional certifications including one or more of the following: CompTIA Security +, CIAM, or CIST, CISA
  • IAM (Identity and Access Management) experience to include working knowledge of IAM tools such as TAM, OIM, and Sailpoint.
  • Previous team lead/management experience in the security administration/IAM/security operations area
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of PCI and SOX related controls
