Job Description

**The hours for this role are 11:30am - 8:00pm Eastern Standard Time

This is a hybrid role with training in our Uniondale, NY office; then reporting once a week to the office.**

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for servicing the caller and/or mail correspondence with standard underwriting handling practices to successfully support the underwriting department in resolving the caller’s concerns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage a large number of external and internal calls
  • Identify and assess customer needs to achieve satisfaction and follow-up where needed to ensure resolution
  • Provide accurate and complete information based on underwriting procedures and regulatory time frames
  • Provide policy information and the ability to determine the appropriate course of action
  • Perform follow-up work with callers and/or mail including insured’s and brokers to secure information to assist them in providing a solution
  • Communicate vital information or secured paperwork to the underwriter or unit management timely

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate, able to assimilate to business applications on multiple platforms
  • Expected minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute
  • Must perform well in high-energy, dynamic and team-orientated environments
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and learn quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish a working relationship with individuals at varying levels within the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Desired Skills:

  • Bi-Lingual preferably English/Spanish
  • One or more years of experience in the Auto Insurance Industry, State Regulations
  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training or work-related experience

National General prides itself on offering our employees a robust Total Rewards package which includes base salary.  The base range offered for the role is: $42,900 - $67,000 and may vary based on internal equity, and job-related skills, knowledge and experience; among other factors.  Other financial components may be added as part of the competitive compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
