Job Description

Primary Purpose:

This position is responsible for the data entry and evaluation of new employer groups and new enrollees to the Self-Funded product.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Enter new group enrollment data to online system and appropriate worksheets
  • Evaluate group enrollment materials for completeness
  • Analyze new business quote/proposal for accuracy
  • Analyze broker appointments
  • Evaluate eligibility and enrollment requirements of new enrollees to employer group plan
  • Assign effective dates using established guidelines
  • Evaluate employer changes
  • Work collaboratively with sales offices and underwriters to meet company objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal partners to improve agent satisfaction
  • Using set parameters, create census for GRx and provide data to underwriting
  • Provide assistance, accept new duties as assigned, to support department functionality

  • Knowledge of the health insurance market
  • Demonstrate strong ability to work independently and to adjust schedule to meet service standards
  • Proven ability to remain focused in fast paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales staff and department staff
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office application (Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Proficient use of computer systems
  • Demonstrate professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


Desired Skills:

  • 1 or more years work experience in the health insurance market
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Access, and Outlook)
