Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Provide Commission Accounting functions. Typically the first point of contact for all Agents therefore providing appropriate phone and email etiquette. Work within a team environment, assisting when necessary. Assist internal and external customers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Prepares basic journal entries
  • Answer all Commission Accounting email timely.  Responding to Agent email questions and telephone messages within a reasonable time period.
  • Effective and appropriate communication skills including proper telephone and email etiquette
  • Research issues for Agents using the Workflow Manager  system within NPS system
  • Request checks, Review statements, verifying information ensuring accurate funds have been allocated.
  • Researching returned checks and mail for addresses 
  • Assist other team Analysts as needed
  • Minimal travel to other Corporate entities
  • Performs additional duties as requested


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • 4 year degree in accounting
  • Basic knowledge of accounting functions, including Journal Entries.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to interact within a team setting promoting a positive working environment
  • Effective and appropriate communication skills including proper telephone and email etiquette
  • Attention to detail

  • A minimum of 2 years of prior accounting experience
