Primary Purpose:

Under general supervision; responsible for basic Commission Accounting activities including Agent Statements, and ensuring accurate funds have been allocated. Work within a team environment, assisting when necessary. Travel within other Company entities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Prepare Journal Entries, Request checks, Review statements, verify information ensuring accurate funds have been allocated.
  • Extensive research using the NGIC system to resolve Commission Accounting issues
  • Create and maintain Share Point tickets
  • Critical thinker with an ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or strategy
  • Work closely with other departments
  • Calculate Commissions when necessary
  • Serves as a technical assistant for the department by providing research and interpretation of commission transactions and performing analysis to facilitate effective and accurate conclusions
  • Insurance commission accounting or equivalent experience
  • Monthly travel to other Corporate entities


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related business experience
  • 2+ years of prior accounting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Basic knowledge of related accounting principles and transactions based on assigned responsibilities

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting

  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to multi task and effectively prioritize duties
