Job Description

Primary Purpose:

As a customer focused, friendly and outgoing individual you will support the office staff in attaining National General’s business goals. Individuals in this position will provide clerical and administrative support to both internal and external clients.  Associates hired to become Agents will provide this support while working towards becoming a licensed agent in their resident state. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to staff including handling inbound and outbound phone calls, reports, filing, researching and gathering information, and maintaining overall appearance of sales office
  • Assist customers with general questions, receive customer payments, issue receipts and verify balance/daily reports of receipts for cash drawers
  • Complete sales related activities which further the National General brand in the local market (outbound calls, car dealerships visit, local events, distribution of flyers, etc.)
  • Prepare and send information to customers and lien holders as instructed by Agent or Lead Sales Agent
  • Contact customers regarding account status and renewals
  • Read and remain current on company guidelines, announcements, memos and bulletins related to company policy and procedure

 

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Some prior experience in customer service, sales or administrative
  • Interest in pursuing Insurance sales license in your resident state
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and provide excellent customer service
  • Friendly, outgoing, positive personality
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with internal and external clients at varying levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and provide excellent customer service
  • Experience or strong willingness to develop key relationships and market our products within community organizations and the local business community
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office applications

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Retail or business-to-consume sales experience
