Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Lead the contracting of National General in-house healthcare networks. Serve as the lead for developing and maintaining relationships with health systems nationally, negotiating complex managed care contracts and serving as subject matter expert on all topics of healthcare contracting.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the point person for important health system relationships nationally
  • Lead a cross-functional effort to develop National General’s internal standards for major health system contracts
  • Negotiate contracts with health systems to generate maximum value
  • Lend subject matter expertise on independent physician and ancillary facility contracting
  • Be a key advisory to leadership on the direction of the firm’s efforts to build its healthcare networks

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 7+ years of work experience in managed care with material experience in contract negotiation and senior-level relationship management
  • Desire to work in the fast-paced environment of an internal startup
  • Ability and desire to work in high level executive communication environments while simultaneously getting into the details of contracts and operations
  • Ability to think outside of traditional payer/provider relationship dynamics and think of new potential solutions
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must perform well in high-energy, dynamic and team-oriented environments
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

 

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience within the insurance industry
