Primary Purpose:

National General Insurance Company is looking for a Program Manager to lead the in-house development of its healthcare networks. You will be responsible for running the project to deliver in-house healthcare networks (including provider relationships, contracts, and data) as well as the internal process to maintain those networks going forward. Lead all aspects of an effort (or multiple efforts) to implement desired business initiatives. The role must interact with all areas of the company (e.g. product development, product compliance, IT, operations, sales, underwriting, etc.) to ensure the goals of all appropriate stakeholders are met.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop a company-wide plan for the healthcare network build-out
  • Be the central point to ensure that the various component parts of the project across contracting, legal, actuarial and technology come together to deliver great results
  • Hold stakeholders accountable to deadlines and project specifications
  • Source external consultants and resources to augment internal capabilities
  • Build internal processes for ongoing maintenance of healthcare networks
  • Report to executive leadership on program progress and make adjustments as warranted
  • Early engagement of strategic initiatives and programs
  • Determine program approach and develops realistic expectations, manages timeline, scope, and expectations
  • Able to make suggestions for the success of the Program
  • Approves the progress of the project as it relates to the business vision
  • Accountable for completeness of requirements for programs
  • Prioritization of programs and projects and works across boundaries to come up with solutions to competing timelines
  • Anticipates, manages, and resolves issues and risks that are internal and external to the program. Prioritizes issues and documents and tracks resolution at a program level
  • Provides rapid turnaround on issues/concerns and change requests as well as requirement clarifications or interpretation


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 5+ years of experience with a track record of delivering to completion on complex projects involving operations and technology
  • 5+ years of experience with Portfolio/Program/Project Management
  • Experience with workflows and process management
  • A track record of success in a competitive and fast-paced work environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and learn quickly 
  • High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion
  • Willingness to take full accountability and manage competing priorities
  • Quality driven
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Deep insurance industry knowledge
