Job Description

Primary Purpose:

The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to coordinate Leave of Absence claims from receipt of claim to return-to-work, ensuring all processes and federal and state regulations are followed.  Candidates must have working knowledge of FMLA and ADA and comparable state regulations and case management experience. This position can be located in our Ontario, CA; Winston-Salem, NC; or Cleveland, OH offices.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Coordinate all leave types – FMLA, STD, LTD, Military, and all state mandated leave types
  • Advise employees and managers regarding leave and PTO policies and procedures
  • Track LOA and input pay information in HRIS
  • Track and collect employee portion of benefits costs
  • Partner with HR Business Partners by providing information to support employment decisions when approved leave time is exhausted or according to policy
  • Partner with Sr. Leave Coordinator on ADA requests for reasonable accommodation
  • Liaison with third-party administrator
  • Maintain close contact with employee and keep manager informed about expected duration, return-to-work dates, extensions, etc.
  • Partner and coordinate with Workers' Comp coordinator

 

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 2 + years of experience in FMLA and ADA administration
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA and multi-state leave of absence regulations
  • Highly organized and strong follow-up skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organizaiton

 

 

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience working with Workday.
