Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for agent verification and appointment processes and serves as point of contact for licensing and contracting related inquiries from internal departments and agents. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Ensures paperwork for licenses/appointments is received, complete, and filed.
  • Processes agents’ new license and company appointments, renewals, terminations, and status changes. 
  • Set up agents in internal agent database, including proper set up of agent hierarchy and contracts
  • Analyzes and ensures that the agents are in compliance with all applicable state laws and regulations regarding agent license and company appointments (i.e., current license, forms entered correctly, background checks w/o felony charges, IRS liens, bankruptcies, etc.).
  • Answers questions and researches information as needed in a timely manner
  • Executes transactions, such as agent of record changes, agent transfers requests, agent terminations, and follows appropriate notification processes to communicate when necessary
  • Maintains and updates contact information, including addresses, name changes, contact information, etc
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of all workflows and business processes related to the required duties of the role
  • Tracks the status of agent licenses and assists with updates as needed

 

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2 years of Customer Service Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills

 

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • Previous industry experience
  • Ability to process complex time sensitive information from multiple sources, make decisions based on data and to effectively communicate the related required actions to a broad audience
  • Provides excellent customers service
  • Possesses self-motivation to work independently, is detail oriented, has good organization skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely fashion
  • Team oriented ability to provide guidance on process, procedures, and product. 
  • Comfortable with delivering and receiving feedback as appropriate
