Job Description

Primary Purpose:

To grow premium by providing agents support with moving a book of business through administrative, clerical, customer service and management of daily team activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Quote and issuance of new business submissions
  • Provides administrative and clerical processing support
  • Maintain accurate tracking and reporting spreadsheets
  • Reviews individual guidelines and determines appropriate action to take based on these guidelines
  • Work within authority levels to review and analyze risks to determine whether to proceed with processing, decline or refer (refers to supervisor or underwriter)
  • Provides clear and concise communication to agents and other business groups
  • Recognizes and resolves error messages related to business in process
  • Take ownership of any escalated  inquiry,  issue, problem, or error that could potentially impact the policyholder or Independent Agent and determines appropriate course of action
  • Collaborates with team members to manage work inventories and resolve production errors
  • Work collaboratively with team members to continually improve processes, output, etc.
  • Assists/participates in special projects as directed by management
  • Fields phone calls from internal and external customers and assists in resolving issues

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must perform well in high-energy, dynamic and team-oriented environments
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Highly effective in multi- tasking, and exercising sound judgment
  • High degree of dependability, motivation and flexibility
  • Ability to consistently utilize proper procedures and resources to determine proper action to be taken


Desired Skills:

  • Ability to type 30+ words per minute
  • Previous experience in insurance with personal auto, commercial, motorcycle, recreational vehicle, accident and health, supplemental health and/or homeowners product
