You are a skilled communicator who thrives in the arena of business-to-business relationships. You have experience building and maintaining existing affiliate accounts but also in developing and on-boarding new relationships.  Someone who is comfortable working independently but is a team-player at heart, you’re driven to support your coworkers and foster a work environment that is energetic, fun, and efficient.  You have experience in the insurance industry, either in property & casualty or health & life, and understand the general practices of an insurance broker. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are just as comfortable on the phone as you are in-person.  Interfacing with outside affiliate partners and potential partners and various internal departments is a welcome undertaking. You’re a skilled multi-tasker, gifted with the ability to balance many competing priorities and work well under pressure. You are a quick learner with a naturally curious streak.

Primary Purpose:
Oversee the needs of the business-to-business referral partners and act as the primary point of contact between partners and VelaPoint. Implement new referral partners, the management and sales growth of existing referral partners and interfacing with each department (Sales, Finance, Customer Service, etc.) to meet the needs of partners. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • On board new partners – establish telephony and online referral resources, facilitate execution of contracts and other documents, ensure partner statements and payments are created and paid
  • Maintain existing partner relationships through ongoing support, regular meetings and off-site travel
  • Facilitate partner growth through marketing, adding new referral sources under partner relationship and general relationship growth
  • Identify and solve partner issues and needs in a timely and independent method
  • Work with each department at VelaPoint to represent the needs of partners, keeping in mind the needs and goals of VelaPoint

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point)
  • Business-to-business sales and presentation 
  • Relationship management
  • Must be flexible, creative and willing to be objective in decision - making
  • Must be detail oriented 
  • Ability to get things done in a complex, rapidly changing environment with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction from multiple people and successfully prioritize competing priorities 
  • Ability to travel, as needed


Desired Skills:

  • Licensed life and health agent
  • Three years of experience in account management and/or insurance sales
