Primary Purpose:

Responsible for all aspects of our local relationships with current and prospective partners in assigned territory, including: establishing executive plans for new business development, achieving profit and expense management targets,  identifying opportunities for growth and improvement, and collaborating with the Regional Vice President of Sales to execute on regional & countrywide initiatives. This is a field based position covering the New England region.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the manager for all local Preferred & Premier sales representatives in their assigned territory
  • Accountable for growth and profitability of assigned territory, including individual contribution from local sales representatives
  • Facilitate and enhance our customer relationships alongside the sales representatives, helping to set goals and obtain commitments that align with our new & renewal objectives
  • Mentor, manager and/or lead existing team members and all new hires within assigned territory, focusing on promoting team building opportunities that delegate tasks for those seeking additional responsibilities
  • Work with the Regional Vice President of Sales to set production & profitability goals for all assigned states, act as a liaison between sales & product management to share competitor insight and determine appropriate product or pricing changes, and facilitate the launch of new programs in their territory
  • Attend industry functions to maintain market visibility and promote our brands

  • Bachelor’s Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 5+ years of experience with marketing, sales and/or underwriting in the property & casualty insurance industry
  • Proven track record executing a sales plan resulting in an expansion of products and services sold and significant financial gains
  • Track record of gaining commitments from prospective customers and effective use of sale closing techniques
  • Ability to persuade and influence behavior through proper sales planning and execution of sales calls.
  • Maintain a high level of commitment to personally getting things done, assuming personal responsibility for achieving expected results
  • Maintain a positive attitude even when faced with frustration, pressure or change. Recovers quickly when faced with obstacles or setbacks
  • Utilize creative problem solving skills to effectively resolve customer issues
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks promptly and professionally.
  • Works independently with little supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Windows
  • Must be able and willing to travel 35+ % of the time
  • Valid U.S. State-issued driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience in a similar position with current knowledge and established relationships with independent agency owners and trade association organizations in the state
