Primary Purpose:

Manage the Territory Sales Manager’s and independent agents within a region, working closely with Sales Vice President’s to profitably grow all states within region. Meet region volume and profit objectives, while maintaining and growing a relationship between National General Insurance, potential agents, current agents, and internal customers

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Provide sales, marketing and technical training to less experienced personnel, both in the field and in classroom settings
  • Closely monitor the Focus Group selections of each Territory Sales Manager and their progress in graduating Focus agents
  • Interview candidates for all levels of sales positions and assist in interviewing Marketing Analyst and other positions within Agency marketing
  • Work with Sales Vice President to develop sales and marketing strategy and tactics for region
  • Develop detailed plan for implementing developed strategies and tactics
  • Develop training modules and certification processes for the Eloquent training program
  • Organize, develop and administer agency meetings, training seminars and convention presentations
  • Assist in the development of customized and general incentive plans and agency promotions
  • Develop annual budget for region and regularly monitor and analyze budget variances
  • Prepare and administer annual Performance Evaluations and quarterly checkpoint meetings
  • Develop annual performance objectives

  • Bachelor’s Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • Previous Senior Territory Sales Manager  experience
  • Ability to effectively manage a territory
  • Ability to effectively manage other people
  • Proficient in developing marketing plans and strategies, and evaluating agencies for new business potential
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
  • Ability to handle complex questions and issues
  • Thorough understanding of National General Insurance brand and ability to exhibit the behaviors associated with it
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of Sales Management Database
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid U.S. State-issued driver’s license required
  • Experience supervising and effectively evaluating others

  • High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion
  • Works independently with little supervision
