Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Manage the Retention Agents which includes being accountable for proactively coaching agents, monitoring calls, reviewing quality, and assisting with agent availability. Act as a resource for agents regarding customer problems/complaints and create, generate and monitor business reports

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a group of licensed insurance agents and non-licensed specialists
  • Participate in supervisory duties including interviewing, hiring, training new staff members, preparing staffing plans, scheduling, attendance tracking, time-off approvals, conflict resolution, corrective counseling and terminations
  • Liaise with various partners, departments, and affiliates to ensure best efforts in saving policy premiums
  • Conduct meetings, training activities and contests to drive premium retention and book of business
  • Conduct meetings, contests and training activities to drive retention percentage and stay current with market trends, regulations, products, underwriting guidelines and rate revisions
  • Remain current with market trends, regulations, products, underwriting guidelines and billing procedures

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • Proficiency with web-based applications along with excellent navigation skills
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion
  • Must perform well in high-energy, dynamic and team-oriented environments
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization

 

Desired Skills:

  • The ability and willingness to contribute thoughtful ideas and suggestions for process improvement
  • Licensed in Health and Life
  • 3+ years of insurance experience in the areas of sales or underwriting
