Primary Purpose:

The Disaster Recovery Analyst is responsible for planning, scheduling, follow up, problem resolution and status reporting on global Disaster Recovery exercises.  Coordinates the functional exercise and validation of disaster recovery plans to ensure the organizational data assets are properly protected and recoverable within identified timelines.  The DR Analyst will liaise with all members of the DR team ensuring a well-rounded team and program.   


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee annual DR exercises to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and other demands
  • Responsible for all pre-exercise and post-exercise documentation, meetings, problem identification/resolution, recovery and application verification plans, and exercise execution
  • Conduct continual risk analysis to identify critical operations and systems that require uninterrupted business operations
  • Create regular program update communications to internal management regarding the status of the Disaster Recovery program
  • Orchestrate the execution of the disaster recovery plan(s) when a business or IT disruption occurs and a disaster is declared
  • Continuous improvements of the plans, documentation and recovery strategy
  • Monitor and review documentation of production and disaster recovery technology infrastructures to ensure existing documentation is current and relevant
  • Create / maintain Disaster Recovery playbook to facilitate recovery production site to failover location.
  • Manage both internal and external parties whom have influence on the program
  • Perform all departmental administrative activities, including status reporting, documentation and other activities as assigned in a timely fashion
  • Ensure required Disaster Recovery documentation is distributed and available for all IT teams
  • Keep DR Application list and calendar in SharePoint up-to-date


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 6+ years of experience in successful Disaster Recovery designing and exercising programs
  • Proven success in highly regulated environment (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX)
  • Ability to plan, organize and direct the execution of IT disaster recovery exercises
  • Ability to present complex ideas or situations in a clear, simple and understandable manner to non-technical audiences
  • Proven experience in large, highly available enterprise class virtualized environments consisting of 2000+ end users and or 1000+ virtual servers
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint
  • Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills; must be able to communicate professionally, lead conference calls and meetings
  • Ability to be self-directed when required; self-starter
  • Availability and willingness to travel occasionally to other locations for business
  • CBCP / ABCP Certification
