Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Provide assistance with the administration of the Company’s benefits plans to include health and welfare, retirement plan, life and disability programs.   Respond to employee questions and provides guidance on transactions related to benefit programs in a timely manner while ensuring compliance.  Assists in the day-to-day administration of benefit plans, programs, policies and services.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Provide support for Health and Welfare Benefit eligibility and enrollment for all employees
  • Respond to inquiries, requests and issues related to benefit plans, programs, policies and services and resolve or make appropriate referrals, from inquires, as necessary via telephone, email or in person
  • Review and carry out all benefit related activities in accordance with the appropriate laws and regulations (COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.) and must demonstrate a basic knowledge of appropriate provisions
  • Review routine report generation and audits and process accordingly
  • Correspond with beneficiaries and process life insurance claims
  • Qualified Medical Child Support Orders administration
  • Provide additional clerical/administrative support within Benefits Team
  • Assist in Companywide Open Enrollment process
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation meetings by webinars or in person
  • Actively participate in coordination and reporting of claims for workplace injuries


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 5+ years of benefit administration experience
  • Must maintain confidentiality of data
  • Strong organizational and  customer service skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Attentiveness to accuracy and ability to comply with specific policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Must be flexible, organized, and able to multi-task and prioritize work under own initiative to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


Desired Skills:

  • Advanced Excel skills (V-Lookup, Pivot Table, etc.)
  • Critical thinking – using logic, reasoning and resources for problem solving
  • Familiarity with Workday HRIS system
