Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Oversee and manage Inspection Team members and perform all duties and responsibilities expected of a front line Supervisor. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Perform daily work distribution to team members
  • Ensure productivity measurements for team members are met
  • Provide weekly status of incoming/outgoing volumes
  • Assist in training of newly hired and existing team members who are under-performing
  • Assist in quality control of team members including phone monitoring
  • Assist with reports, projects and meetings when needed
  • Over-see and perform daily supervision of the inspection team
  • Conduct performance evaluations of staff including any necessary performance improvement plans
  • Coach and provide leadership to staff along with daily support to team members with issues
  • Continuously consider process improvements and share opportunities with Underwriting Director


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2+ years of experience in Personal Lines Inspections, Customer Service, Operations or Underwriting
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite ( Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Manages time wisely by prioritizing work load to meet deadlines
  • Must be customer-oriented and able to effectively trouble shoot and resolve customer questions and concerns
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several systems on a daily basis
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
  • High degree of dependability, motivation and flexibility
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills


Desired Skills:

  • 1+ years in a Lead or Supervisory position
