Primary Purpose:

The Director of Publisher Business Development will lead the efforts to acquire new media partners for Transparent.ly’s ad serving technology, including identifying prospects, engaging the decision maker and closing a contract.  Transparent.ly is a real-time clicks bidding platform that allows advertisers to precisely bid for consumers with our ad technology.  Our platform allows our online media partners to monetize their consumer traffic in insurance, mortgage and higher education by showing highly relevant ads to in market consumers.

We are looking for an experienced business development professional to expand the media partners that use our platform to monetize the traffic to their websites. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use creativity and competitive intelligence resources to identify potential media partners.
  • Initiate relationships in a professional manner, including emailing and cold calling. 
  • Clearly articulate the value of Transparent.ly’s monetization solution to partners and enter into contractual relationships. 
  • Project manage onboarding of media partners, including technical, billing and pricing issues. 
  • Manage relationships with media partners to ensure successful long-term relationships from both Transparent.ly’s and media partner’s perspective.

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Three years of successful business development or account management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of quickly developing professional relationships over the phone.
  • Cultivate deep relationships with partners.
  • Strong in person presentation skills.
  • Knowledgeable of online marketing, particularly pay per click and display advertising.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at any one time with little direction.
  • Comfortable using data to make decisions.
  • Highly detailed oriented, organized and analytical.
  • Natural street smarts for separating the story from the reality.
  • Facility with Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Skilled at solving business problems.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in the insurance industry highly preferred.
  • Business development in online marketing highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed sales goals.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, startup environment.
  • College degree from a Top 25 school with a 3.0 or better GPA
