Job Description
The Underwriting Consultant II actively participates on a team of underwriters with the responsibility of assessing risk and determining if the case is a good a match for the company.• Answer customer service calls.
• Aids agents and customers on non-UW service issues
• Documents and communicates underwriting guidelines, philosophies, and decisions across segments
• Develops and analyzes both internal and external data for assigned business segment(s) to direct pricing, underwriting, and sales decisions
• Analyzes the quality of assigned books of business through agent and profile reviews and audits
• Assists with Reviews on agent's books of business for book roll opportunities by quoting policies and determining acceptability, pricing, and risk management opportunities
• Develops and maintains relationships with Independent agents and employees across all departments
• Achieves financial objectives for assigned agents for loss ratio, retention and new business
• Supports and implements company objectives regarding rating initiatives and agency management
• Trains agents on systems, products and ratings
• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
• 2 or more years of experience (Preferred)
• This job does not have supervisory duties.
• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $50,400.00 - 76,125.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.At National General, great things happen when our people work together.
