Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Entry-level management position responsible for managing, implementing and maintaining state insurance programs including rates, rules, and forms. Also responsible for development of strategic and tactical planning and meeting state volume and profit objectives with guidance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and grow a relationship between NGIC Insurance and potential/ current policyholders, along with ensuring employees understand and support the brand
  • Capitalize on strategies and tactics recommended by more experienced personnel for product structures and web functionality changes 
  • May begin to formulate strategies with guidance
  • Analyze data and implement product changes with guidance in order to meet expectations for profitability, conservation, refinement and geographic expansion of existing business and implementation of any new product structures
  • Communicate and coordinate state and product efforts with IT, Sales, Compliance, Marketing, Finance and other areas both within the division and throughout the enterprise
  • Ensure that all state and product initiatives are compliant with regulations
  • Monitor competitive and regulatory activities within the marketplace

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • Demonstrates analytical abilities in regards to developing pricing structures and formulation of underwriting criteria
  • Knowledge/ experience with DOI and legal regulations as pertains to P&C insurance products and services
  • Ability to utilize mainframe reporting applications for extraction and preparing data analysis
  • Demonstrates leadership ability through completion of cross-functional projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must perform well in high-energy, dynamic and team-oriented environments
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization
  • Demonstrates in-depth business knowledge
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to demonstrate project management skills
  • Demonstrates general understanding of technology in regards to delivery of products and services
  • Ability to focus on geographic vs state specific results

Desired Skills:

  • Master Degree
  • Knowledge of SAS
  • Thorough understanding of the NGIC brand and ability to exhibit behaviors associated with it
