Job Description

Primary Purpose:
Responsible for supervising and leading a team of representatives within an assigned area.  Ensure team members are corresponding to service level expectations and outlined procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
•    Communicate effectively with internal and external customers via various channels
•    Diffuse escalated situations and address issues and complaints
•    Achieve an understanding of various processes and technologies and remain current on constant updates
•    Diagnose and identify opportunities for coaching, counseling and development for employees within assigned area
•    Measure performance and create/execute improvement plans and goals as needed
•    Actively identify areas for continuous improvement and communicate ideas on implementation
•    Support achievement of assigned area goals and metrics
•    Participate in and/or facilitate special projects
•    Assist with day-to-day activities within assigned area
•    Interview and recommend qualified candidates for hire
•    Manage own career development by soliciting feedback and valuing other perspectives
•    Assist in the identification of training needs within department and develop bulletins or additional training material as needed.

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

•    High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
•    2+ years of experience in insurance and/or job related environment
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
•    Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
•    Possess leadership skills
•    Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task (i.e. talking and typing simultaneously) and be detail-oriented
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic internet skills
•    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization and contribute to a positive work environment
•    Ability to problem solve, make decisions and empathize with others
•    Ability to work independently with little supervision; a self-starter attitude
•    High degree of initiative, mature judgment, personal accountability and discretion

Desired Skills:
•    Associate’s Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
•    Possess management, supervisory and/or leadership experience
