Job Description

Job Summary:

The Business Process Consultant I understands and is able to apply complex consulting methodology. This position is responsible for supporting the implementation of consulting projects through in-depth research, data analysis and recommends potential solutions. This individual may lead simple projects or process design efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recommends solutions that will positively impact the business unit cost structure and profitability and operational efficiencies
  • Identifies what additional information is needed through research, questioning and data gathering with internal/external business partners to understand impact of alternative solutions. Utilize information gathered to support business objectives and improve program outcomes
  • Applies functional professional knowledge, in relevant areas: professional and regulatory standards and technical concepts; team standards and business goals, to achieve goals of internal/external business partners and project requirements
  • Provides process and system expertise relevant to AOR to support various internal or regulatory audits
  • Develops understanding of competition/industry practices through various means (Questioning, research, consulting, and professional contacts) to aide in decision making
  • Gathers and analyzes business and stakeholder requirements. Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures
  • May lead projects and program execution of low complexity to support business unit objectives
  • Provides Records Information Management (RIM) oversight and expertise
  • Manage cash flow
  • Balance files
  • Initiate fund transfers (wires, ACH requests and tax payments)
  • Perform opening and closing of accounts as necessary
  • Prepare and post entries to general ledger
  • Manage monthly closing processes
  • Pull check copies as requested
  • Place Stop Payments on checks as requested
  • Conduct account analysis, and identify and report trends, risks, and discrepancies
  • Prepare and maintain bank fees spreadsheet and various monthly reports
  • Assist Treasury Manager as requested

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of related experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • None

Functional Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Insurance industry knowledge or consulting certifications (i.e. BPM, Six Sigma, ASQ) preferred
  • Fundamental experience facilitating meetings and processes
  • Demonstrates the ability to anticipate, identify, reproduce, and resolve simple problems in area of specialty, including business, process and technical problems
  • Efficiently communicates technical and business ideas and information to others, including non-technical audiences
