Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Manage multiple functions within the national accounts agency sales and marketing team to include, sales analytics, agency investments and an internal wholesale operation. Identify and develop new national sales partnerships to increase profitable growth of the agency distribution channel. This position can be located in any major NGIC office.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage growth and profitability of national accounts function for agency distribution channel
  • Uncover opportunities for new business growth by gathering and analyzing data
  • Review sales reports and closely monitor sales results
  • Provide frequent reporting on key sales metrics and initiatives
  • Work with the sales leadership team to communicate results, discoveries, opportunities and outcomes
  • Manage relationship with partner carrier(s)
  • Execute national agency account sales plan to meet annual premium targets
  • Development and growth of wholesaler team resources, including goals and objectives
  • Devise strategies for target segment growth and program expansion


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 7+ years of property and casualty insurance experience
  • 7+ years of experience in a field/territory sales function within the insurance space
  • Develop strategies, processes, and procedures to cross sel other National General products in our Accident A&H and traditional auto verticals
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with internal and external clients at varying levels within the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to train, coach and develop a high performance staff
  • Ability to evaluate employee performance and develop an action plan for improvement
  • Ability to analyze various reports (i.e.. identify trends and develop a plan for improvement)
  • Ability to analyze numerical data/reports (financial/sales forecasting, budgeting, etc.)
  • Ability to use computer and software applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel as frequently as needed


Desired Skills:

  • Proven experience in Leadership and Performance Management (developing employees in highly competitive sales environment)
  • Prior experience in a national accounts role
  • Master’s Degree in a related field of study
  • Working knowledge and proficiency of SQL and/or SAS
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, data querying and data analysis
