Job Description

Job Title:  IT Project Coordinator - Agile Development

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for supporting business planning and implementation of strategic initiatives, small system enhancements and assistance on medium to larger projects. Support PM Team with the definition of project scope, plans, goals, deliverables, tasks and resource requirements. Work closely with technology team, operations, IT department, vendors, other departments and other business resources to document and implement solutions that are effective, informative and support the end business users.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in documentation of project scope and schedule
  • Organize project status and working meetings
  • Prepare and distribute progress reports
  • Support risks and issue management
  • Assist with delivery planning for assigned projects
  • Provide support to entire Project Management group and other business units as directed
  • Participate with business analysts in acceptance testing with business representatives
  • Review user requirements and assist with supporting documentation per established procedures (i.e. requirements, BRD)
  • Participate in testing plan which includes participating in and/or monitoring results; approve results
  • Coordinate rollout activities with business which include coordinating pilot (if applicable) and preparing release notes, user guides and training material for the end users
  • Inform Management of any facts, events or information that may impact the success of a project or deliverable
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile and Traditional Project Management
  • Analyze and document AS IS and TO BE business processes ensuring that issues and concerns are addressed with project deliverables


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 2+ years of experience supporting the Project Management of projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams; PMP preferred
  • Understanding of software development life cycle models as well as some knowledge of Agile and how it differs from traditional project management principles and practices
  • Track record of successfully supporting the implementation of software or web development projects using traditional and Agile methodologies
  • Prior experience with traditional and SCRUM/Agile methodologies; PMI-CAPM, CSM, or equivalent preferred
  • Balanced business/technical background
  • Sufficient level of technical background to understand and be able to accurately and objectively participate in application development projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools such as Microsoft Project, Vision and all Office Tools
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
