Primary Purpose:

Create, lead, drive, and execute the overall strategy for a highly critical talent acquisition function at the enterprise level.  Lead talent delivery, recruitment marketing, and operational teams to meet quality talent needs to fuel growth of the organization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong executive leadership for the talent acquisition function by creating and executing on the overall strategic direction, design and operations of the recruiting staff, systems, services and processes to support the organizations recruitment needs
  • Conduct an organizational capability assessment focused on analysis of current recruitment processes, practices and efficiency at organizational, brand, function, department and individual levels across the organization
  • Develop a talent acquisition architecture which enables the organization to compete and win in the marketplace of today and tomorrow through continual innovation in recruitment marketing and talent delivery
  • Build highly scalable, adaptive, and quality talent lead funnels through innovative tactics including recruitment marketing, programmatic advertising and highly efficient sourcing models
  • Build actionable and insightful metrics dashboard to maximize recruitment marketing spend, candidate funnel efficiency, talent quality
  • Lead recruitment marketing efforts through direct marketing lead generation, funnel optimization and testing to identify the most effective digital/social media channels to drive increased candidate traffic, through content, SEO/PPC, strategic placement of online recruiting banners and mobile platform optimization
  • Partner with executives across human resources, culture and sales to develop and promote employer brand and drive marketing initiatives to position National General as an “employer of choice” in candidate marketplace
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to increase top of funnel candidate pools and create organizational mindset which maximize candidate conversion from awareness, to application, to hire
  • Analyze and communicate recruitment trends, results and insights to drive future recruitment activity
  • Anticipate labor market changes through robust research and analysis into candidate market trends
  • Establish and promote the talent acquisition team as a credible, trustworthy, and capable resource within the organization
  • Serve as the Business Process Owner for our applicant tracking system and work with the systems team to ensure improvements are implemented and that the technology continues to serve our recruiting needs
  • Maintain programs and systems to address and comply with local, state and federal employment statutes, regulations, and laws
  • Lead and direct compliance programs and policies to reduce risk
  • Oversee outsourced recruiting strategies, practices, and vendor relationships


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition in a corporate full-life cycle recruiting environment
  • 5+ years leading high performing and complex talent acquisition function at the enterprise level
  • Experience leading recruitment marketing efforts either through direct leadership of team or partnership with sales and marketing teams
  • Experience developing a strategic road map for talent acquisition & designing a strategy, setting and achieving goals, building a team, driving process improvement, and increasing internal client satisfaction
  • Experience driving efficiencies through the use of technologies, process, and workflows
  • Ability to think conceptually and strategically, while maintaining a results-driven approach
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated team leadership, facilitation skills, and the ability to hire, build and develop high performing teams
  • Ability to design, implement, and improve talent acquisition plans that drive measurable business results over time and further the company's competitive position in the talent market
  • Deep subject matter expertise; an expert recruiter who can also think strategically and has an eye for details and data
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement systems and processes, embedding these in an organization in order to drive change
  • Proficient skills with Enterprise-level ATS solution
  • Highly motivated with a strong customer focus
  • Advanced skill level required in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to partner with other members of the HR team as well as cross-functionally at all levels of the organization
  • Adaptability with experience in managing in an evolving environment
  • Analytical skills and detail orientation
  • Must be able and willing to travel 50+ % of the time


Desired Skills:

  • Experience in direct marketing and sales functions includes direct to consumer sales
  • Prior insurance and/or financial services experience
  • Prior experience with Workday HRIS and Recruiting platforms
